Unite, Act, Change
The “Unite, Act, Change” project is funded by the European Union under the Cypriot Civil Society in Action VII Grant Scheme and is run by the Civil Society Initiative Association. The project was signed on 01.11.2021 and is a 24-month civil society project.
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the development of Civil Society in the fields of strategic planning and advocacy. In this context, the project aims to encourage Civil Society to come together and work together for the common good and the development of coordinated advocacy efforts.
The project improves the organizational and outreach capacity of the Civil Society Initiative; increases the knowledge and actions of CSOs about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and coordinates advocacy for the development of strategic policies within the framework of the SDGs.
The project activities include various SDG training for NGOs, awareness campaigns and advocacy efforts for the public and NGOs.
The project aims to contribute to the development of CSOs by building alliances for better strategic planning and effective advocacy, and by strengthening democratic governance through the active participation of CSOs in decision-making processes. In addition, through the broad Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), core values such as peace, freedom, equal rights, and human dignity will be promoted, as well as concepts such as good governance, social inclusion and gender equality. Furthermore, the project will encourage CSOs to participate in policy and decision-making and implementation by promoting cross-sectoral cooperation and partnership between CSOs and the public sector. This action is expected to contribute to positive socio-economic change and good governance in terms of transparency, accountability, and engagement of relevant stakeholders.
